TOLEDO OHIO, City Council has approved an ordinance making Toledo the first large city in Ohio to offer gay and other unmarried couples the opportunity to register their relationship with city hall. Under the ordinance approved late Tuesday, couples who cannot or don’t want to marry can register their “domestic partnership” with the clerk of city council. The purpose of the registry is to create a centralized process that employers can use to verify relationships when they offer benefits that typically are offered for spouses and dependents. The measure passed 10-2, with Councilmen Rob Ludeman and Joe Birmingham — both Religious Right Controled Republicans and both set to leave office when their terms end this year — casting the no votes. Citizens in northwest Ohio have been working with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) since April of 1999, when the design phase of the state's largest transportation project. I-280 / Maumee River (The bridge alone is 8000 feet long plus ramps and access.) Its main tower IS 400 feet tall.

We who live in  "HOLY TOLEDO" METRO, are in the middle of Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Columbus,  Ft. Wayne, London and Toronto Ont.  Downtown is again becoming the place to live and visit. We have a hate crime and Human Rights HR protection act and marriage partnership registration in place. Our Police, City Council, and the Lucas County Gov. are the best. We in the GLBT community are proud of them and to live in.
